A conference to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the HCCH 1996 Child Protection Convention

The conference will take place on October 19, 2021 as part of the HCCH/Approach (Advancing and Promoting the Protection of All Children) programme. The event will be online and will consist of panel discussions and talks by global experts.
It will be a great opportunity to reflect on the most relevant issues concerning the protection of children and to imagine new methods and tools to promote and to strengthen the protection of their rights.

How does the Convention impact children on the move? What is its significance to the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child? How does it apply to matters of relocation, custody and contact? The impact of the Convention in the protection of children rights across borders? These are important issues that also affect the scope of application of EU Regulation 2016/1191 in the context of the European Union: for example, the circulation of status filiationis remains one of the most controversial issues.
