The practical handbook on Regulation (EU) 2016/1191 will target legal professionals and especially population and civil status registrars. It will be available in English, Italian, German, Greek and French. The handbook will provide a general overview on the Regulation and its facilitating effects in cross-borders situations. It will address practical questions such as: Why request a public document covered by Regulation (EU) 2016/1191? When is the Regulation applicable? What is its scope of application? How to request a public document in the Member State of origin? How to issue a public document in the Member State of origin? How to register public documents in the Member State of destination?
It will also include a discussion on “hard cases” in order to provide practical solutions as well as an appendix with at least 22 country profiles.
The project does not guarantee that a copy will be sent due to budgetary limits, but electronic versions will be freely accessible.
